RoadTalk (“RoadTalk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of people who use the RoadTalk mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
This Privacy Policy explains what information RoadTalk collects, how we collect it, why we use it, when we share it, how we protect and retain it, and the rights and choices available to you.
By using RoadTalk, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you should not use the Service.
1. ABOUT ROADTALK
RoadTalk is a social communication and community platform designed primarily for truck drivers and members of the trucking community.
RoadTalk may allow users to:
- Create and maintain user profiles;
- Discover or interact with other users based on geographic or other information;
- Communicate through text and voice features;
- Use the Hold to Talk feature;
- Participate in regional or community-based chat features;
- Share photos, audio, status updates, and other user-generated content;
- Receive notifications;
- Purchase subscriptions, tokens, credits, or other digital features, if offered;
- Participate in other features introduced by RoadTalk from time to time.
RoadTalk is designed as a social and communication platform for the trucking community. It is not primarily designed or marketed as a dating or matchmaking service.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The information we collect depends on the features you use, the information you choose to provide, and the permissions you grant.
We may collect the following categories of information.
2.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account or use RoadTalk, you may provide:
- Name or display name;
- Username;
- Email address;
- Phone number;
- Password or authentication information;
- Date of birth or age;
- Profile photograph;
- Profile description or biography;
- General location information;
- Trucking-related information you choose to provide;
- Occupation or company information you choose to provide;
- Language preferences;
- Status updates;
- Voice introductions;
- Photos, videos, audio, or other content;
- Messages and communications;
- Information provided when reporting another user or content;
- Information provided when contacting customer support;
- Purchase and subscription information.
You should only provide information that you are comfortable sharing with RoadTalk and, where applicable, other RoadTalk users.
3. LOCATION INFORMATION
Certain RoadTalk features may require or use location information to provide location-based functionality.
Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, RoadTalk may collect:
- Precise location information from your device;
- Approximate or generalized location information;
- Location information associated with your use of RoadTalk;
- General geographic information inferred from technical information such as your IP address.
3.1 How Location Information Is Used
RoadTalk may use location information to:
- Help you discover nearby or geographically relevant RoadTalk users;
- Support location-based community features;
- Support regional chat features;
- Provide features requested by you;
- Improve the functionality and performance of the Service;
- Protect the security of the Service;
- Detect fraud, abuse, or misuse;
- Analyze aggregated or de-identified usage patterns where appropriate.
3.2 Location Display
RoadTalk is designed to limit unnecessary exposure of your exact location to other users.
Where technically supported by the applicable feature, RoadTalk may display approximate, generalized, regional, or otherwise limited location information rather than your exact coordinates.
However, you understand that information you voluntarily provide through your profile, messages, photos, status updates, voice communications, or other content may reveal your location.
RoadTalk does not intentionally sell precise location information to data brokers.
RoadTalk does not use precise location information for unrelated purposes such as building or selling individual location profiles.
If RoadTalk changes its practices concerning precise location information in a manner that requires additional notice or consent under applicable law, RoadTalk will provide that notice and obtain any required consent.
3.3 Location Permissions
You may control location permissions through your device settings.
If you decline or disable location access, certain RoadTalk features may not function or may provide reduced functionality.
Where reasonably possible, RoadTalk may provide alternative functionality when precise location access is not granted.
4. VOICE AND AUDIO INFORMATION
RoadTalk may provide voice communication features, including:
- Hold to Talk;
- Voice introductions;
- Voice messages;
- Other voice or audio communication features.
When you use a voice feature, RoadTalk may process audio information necessary to provide that feature.
Depending on the feature, this may include:
- Audio transmitted during communication;
- Recorded voice messages;
- Voice introductions;
- Audio metadata;
- Information concerning the time, duration, participants, and technical delivery of communications.
The way audio is stored depends on the specific RoadTalk feature.
RoadTalk will not represent that a particular voice communication is stored permanently unless that is actually how the feature operates.
Users should review the information presented when using a voice feature and should not assume that communications are completely private or confidential.
5. HOLD TO TALK
RoadTalk’s Hold to Talk feature allows users to communicate using their device microphone while using the applicable RoadTalk feature.
When you activate Hold to Talk:
- Your device microphone may be accessed;
- Audio may be transmitted to the intended RoadTalk communication service or participants;
- RoadTalk may process technical information necessary to deliver the communication;
- Other authorized participants may hear the communication.
RoadTalk will only access your microphone when the applicable feature requires microphone access and when permitted by your device and applicable permissions.
You can control microphone permissions through your device settings.
If you disable microphone access, Hold to Talk and other voice features may not function.
6. USER-GENERATED CONTENT
RoadTalk allows users to create and share content.
User-generated content may include:
- Profile information;
- Profile photographs;
- Photos;
- Videos;
- Audio;
- Voice introductions;
- Voice messages;
- Text messages;
- Status updates;
- Comments;
- Chat-room content;
- Other content submitted through the Service.
Content that you intentionally make available to other users may be visible to those users.
You should assume that information you voluntarily share through public or community features may be copied, recorded, screenshotted, redistributed, or otherwise used by other people.
RoadTalk cannot guarantee that another user will not copy or misuse information that you choose to make available.
7. MESSAGES AND COMMUNICATIONS
RoadTalk may provide private, group, regional, community, or other communication features.
When you use these features, RoadTalk may process information necessary to:
- Deliver communications;
- Maintain the communication service;
- Provide communication history where applicable;
- Prevent spam;
- Detect fraud or abuse;
- Investigate reports;
- Enforce our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines;
- Protect users and the Service;
- Comply with legal obligations.
RoadTalk does not represent that communications are end-to-end encrypted unless the particular feature expressly states that they are.
Users should not assume that communications through RoadTalk are completely confidential.
8. DEVICE AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION
RoadTalk may automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Service.
This may include:
- IP address;
- Device type;
- Device model;
- Operating system;
- Operating-system version;
- App version;
- Mobile network information;
- Device settings;
- Language and region;
- Unique device identifiers where permitted;
- Advertising identifiers where applicable;

12. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING

14. WE DO NOT SELL PRECISE LOCATION DATA
RoadTalk does not sell your precise location information to data brokers.
RoadTalk does not intentionally license or sell precise location information for unrelated purposes such as creating individual location profiles.
If RoadTalk introduces advertising, analytics, or another feature involving location information in a way that constitutes a sale, sharing, or other regulated disclosure under applicable law, RoadTalk will provide the disclosures and choices required by law.
15. ADVERTISING
RoadTalk may display advertising in the future.
If advertising is offered, RoadTalk and its advertising partners may process certain information to:
- Display advertisements;
- Measure advertising performance;
- Prevent fraudulent advertising activity;
- Understand aggregate advertising performance.
Depending on the advertising technology used, information may include:
- Device information;
- Advertising identifiers;
- IP address;
- Approximate location;
- App interaction information;
- Advertising interaction information.
RoadTalk will not intentionally provide advertisers with the contents of your private communications for advertising purposes.
Where required, RoadTalk will obtain consent before enabling tracking or other advertising-related processing that requires user permission.
Users may also control certain tracking permissions through device settings.
16. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS
If you enable notifications, RoadTalk may send:
- New-message notifications;
- Communication alerts;
- Account notifications;
- Security notifications;
- Service updates;
- Other notifications related to your use of RoadTalk.
You may disable notifications through your device settings.
Some notifications may be necessary for certain communication features.
17. PAYMENTS, SUBSCRIPTIONS, TOKENS, AND DIGITAL PURCHASES
RoadTalk may offer subscriptions, tokens, credits, premium features, or other digital products.
Payments may be processed through Apple, Google, or other authorized payment providers, depending on how the purchase is made.
RoadTalk generally does not need to receive or store your complete payment-card number when the transaction is processed by a third-party payment provider.
RoadTalk may receive information such as:
- Transaction identifier;
- Product purchased;
- Purchase date;
- Subscription status;
- Renewal information;
- Expiration information;
- Refund information.
Payment providers may independently process payment information under their own privacy policies.
18. ACCOUNT SECURITY
RoadTalk uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
These measures may include access controls, authentication, encryption where appropriate, monitoring, and other security measures appropriate to the nature of the information.
However, no electronic system or method of transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Accordingly, RoadTalk cannot guarantee absolute security.
If RoadTalk experiences a security incident that requires notification under applicable law, RoadTalk will provide notice as required by law.
19. DATA RETENTION
RoadTalk retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including:
- Providing and maintaining the Service;
- Maintaining account records;
- Security and fraud prevention;
- Customer support;
- Resolving disputes;
- Enforcing agreements;
- Complying with legal obligations;
- Establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims;

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the purpose for which it was collected, and applicable legal requirements.
When personal information is no longer reasonably necessary, RoadTalk may delete it, anonymize it, or securely dispose of it.
Information contained in backups may remain for a limited period until those backups are overwritten or securely deleted.
RoadTalk does not retain precise location information indefinitely merely for the purpose of building historical location profiles.
20. ACCOUNT DELETION
RoadTalk provides users with a mechanism to initiate deletion of their RoadTalk account.
Where required by applicable platform rules, users may initiate account deletion directly within the RoadTalk application.
Account deletion is intended to remove the account and associated personal information that RoadTalk is not legally required or otherwise permitted to retain.
Depending on the applicable feature and legal requirements, deletion may include user-generated content associated with the account, such as profile information, photos, posts, or other content.
Some information may be retained when reasonably necessary to:
- Comply with legal obligations;
- Prevent fraud;
- Investigate abuse;
- Resolve disputes;
- Enforce agreements;
- Protect security;
- Complete financial transactions;
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Deleting your account may permanently remove access to your profile, messages, content, subscriptions, tokens, credits, or other account-related information.
Account deletion does not necessarily cancel an independently managed subscription. Subscription cancellation must be completed through the applicable subscription provider when required.
21. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on where you live and applicable legal requirements, you may have rights regarding your personal information.
These rights may include:
- Right to know what personal information is collected;
- Right to access personal information;
- Right to request correction of inaccurate information;
- Right to request deletion;
- Right to obtain a copy of certain personal information;
- Right to opt out of certain sales or sharing;

RoadTalk is not directed to children under 13 years of age.
RoadTalk does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you are under 13, you may not create an account or use RoadTalk.
If RoadTalk learns that it has collected personal information from a child under 13 without legally required parental consent, RoadTalk will take reasonable steps to delete that information.

27. INTERNATIONAL USERS AND DATA TRANSFERS
RoadTalk is operated from the United States.
RoadTalk may use service providers and infrastructure located in the United States or other countries.
If you access RoadTalk from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, processed in, or stored in the United States or other jurisdictions.
Those jurisdictions may have privacy laws different from those in your country of residence.
28. DO NOT TRACK AND PRIVACY SIGNALS
Some browsers and devices provide privacy signals such as “Do Not Track” or other mechanisms.
Because standards for responding to such signals vary, RoadTalk may not respond to every such signal unless required by applicable law.
Where applicable law requires RoadTalk to recognize a legally valid opt-out preference signal, RoadTalk will process that signal as required.
29. USER SAFETY AND RESPONSIBILITY
RoadTalk is a communication platform and cannot control everything that users may say, upload, or do.
Users are responsible for exercising reasonable judgment when communicating with other people.
Do not share information that could compromise your personal safety, security, or privacy.
RoadTalk does not guarantee the identity, background, intentions, or conduct of any other user.
Users should exercise caution when meeting, communicating with, or interacting with people they meet through RoadTalk.
30. USER-GENERATED CONTENT, REPORTING, AND BLOCKING
RoadTalk may provide tools that allow users to:
- Report inappropriate content;
- Report users;
- Block users;
- Restrict communications;
- Remove content from their own account;
- Contact RoadTalk regarding suspected violations.
RoadTalk may review reports and take appropriate action, including:
- Removing content;
- Restricting content visibility;
- Suspending accounts;
- Terminating accounts;
- Restricting communication;
- Cooperating with lawful investigations.
RoadTalk may use automated systems and/or human review to detect or investigate violations of our Terms of Use, Community Guidelines, or applicable law.
RoadTalk cannot guarantee that every violation will be detected or removed immediately.
31. LAW ENFORCEMENT AND EMERGENCY REQUESTS
RoadTalk may cooperate with law enforcement and government authorities when required or permitted by applicable law.
RoadTalk may disclose information in response to:
- Valid subpoenas;
- Warrants;
- Court orders;
- Other legally enforceable requests;
- Emergency requests where permitted by law;
- Requests necessary to protect the safety of a person or the public.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy prevents RoadTalk from taking action reasonably necessary to protect users, the public, or RoadTalk.

RoadTalk seeks to collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
RoadTalk does not intend to collect sensitive information merely because it is available.
You should not provide RoadTalk with information that is unnecessary for using the Service.
